Suicides went into the studio less than a year before forming to record their debut album. With more than 15 songs that were written, they decided to keep only 11 for the recording. Coming from a punk background they set out to break off from the traditional punk sound and with Rudy's untraditional guitar riffs and Jeanette still learning drums

Suicides went into the studio less than a year before forming to record their debut album. With more than 15 songs that were written, they decided to keep only 11 for the recording. Coming from a punk background they set out to break off from the traditional punk sound and with Rudy's untraditional guitar riffs and Jeanette still learning drums while they recorded, it gave a more raw, straight forward feel to the songs. This album has been compared to bands such as The Germs, Violent Femmes, X and Queens Of The Stone Age.
