Suicides went into the studio less than a year before forming to record their debut album. With more than 15 songs that were written, they decided to keep only 11 for the recording. Coming from a punk background they set out to break off from the traditional punk sound and with Rudy's untraditional guitar riffs and Jeanette still learning drums

Coming from a punk background they set out to break off from the traditional punk sound and with Rudy's untraditional guitar riffs and Jeanette still learning drums while they recorded, it gave a more raw, straight forward feel to the songs. This album has been compared to bands such as The Germs, Violent Femmes, X and Queens Of The Stone Age.
